I have been thinking a lot about my mom this week because I had to speak on mothers day. I talked a lot about my mom and what she has done for me. I copied and pasted some of my thoughts about my mom below. I love you mom. Happy Mothers day!
As I have been thinking about and writing my talk this week I was thinking about my own mother. One thing that I love about my mother is that she always made her home warm and inviting for everyone. Our house was always the hang out for our friends. My friends knew they could stop by at anytime. I remember even on a few occasions my friends would break into our house when we were out and we would come home to find them eating ice cream or watching tv on our couch. My mom would just laugh because she loved that they felt comfortable enough even to break into our house. This still goes on today in my parents home. I have a little brother still at home who is actually leaving on a mission in August. If you knew my brother you would say that he is quite the comedian. He and his friends are at the house all the time. Well, my mom informed me a few weeks ago that Carter and his friends decided to make themselves a fraternity. They gave themselves a name and my brothers friend Chris who works at a Vinyl lettering shop put their "so called" fraternity name in lettering and it is now above my parents entryway to the family room. My mom has allowed the Fraternity sign to stay there, at least until my brother leaves for his mission. Then I am sure it will be coming down right away. I hope my home will be a place my children will like to be as they grow up and that they will feel comfortable inviting people to our home. I guess you never stop being a mother. My mom has spent countless hours serving me since I have had the babies. While I was on bed rest I would go to the doctor for check ups every week. She would drive me to all my appointments because I was not allowed to drive. She would bring me meals and do housework and whatever else needed to be done. I was later in the hospital on bed rest for a month and a half. She would come several times a week. She would braid my hair for me, bring me milkshakes and movies. She would come to my ultrasounds. I would get a half and hour wheel chair ride everyday. My mom would push me around in my wheel chair. She would help me shower as I got big. I was not allowed to stand in the shower and with all my cords and IV’s it was very difficult to wash my hair. After the babies were born she gutted and reorganized my whole house. Ryan couldn’t find anything in our house for weeks afterwards. My mom loved that because she loves to tease Ryan whenever she gets the chance. Then while the babies were little she would come 5 days a week from 10-2am and take care of the babies so I could sleep a little. If she didn’t come I would normally only get 2-3 hours of sleep a night. It was a life saver. Now she still comes twice a week and takes care of the babies. I really enjoy the time we spend together because the babies are easier now and we can talk and enjoy each others company. She also watches Caden and Halle while I take Jackson to all his Dr.’s appointments. I am so grateful for a wonderful mom who has loved me so much. I love her very much.

Your Mom IS awesome!! I still remember her always being willing to style our hair for dances and your house was VERY conveniently located behind the seminary building... :) haha!
What a huge help she's been to you with these babies, just hearing about it makes me teary, what an amazing woman she truly is. 10 to 2am is one of the biggest sacrifices that I can even think of for a Grandma. Wow.

What a sweet tribute to your mom! I'm glad you survived your mother's day talk. I love that new picture of Halle on the side of your blog. What a doll! I'm good to go for tomorrow. I think we're all healthy.
