Our last year and a half in a nutshell

I thought I would post a few pictures from the last year of our life. since a lot has happened.
We have had a lot of changes over the last year.

First of all we went to Hawaii Last February and had a great time. May aunt got us this beautiful dream house to stay in for about a week. We spent a lot of time at the beach snorkling, body surfing and Whale watching. Ryan and the rest of my family all went scuba diving and got certified. I have always wanted to scuba dive, but was just barely pregnant, so I couldn't go.(Bummer). The food was really great too and I ate like a cow while I was there. My family couldn't get over my massive appetite. The day we got back I went to an ultrasound a
nd found out I was pregnant with triplets. (Well that explains the appetite)

I continued working the first part of my pregnancy. I felt a little nauseous, but overall not too bad. At 19 weeks my Dr. decided things were moving along too quickly and bed rest was a must. By 20 weeks I was admitted into the hospital and spent a month there on medications and strict bed rest. I had some excellent nurses and my Dr.'s were wonderful. My care in the hospital was top notch and I owe all of our success with this pregnancy and delivery to the great staff that took care of me. At 24 weeks My Dr.'s decided to send me back home because things had stabilized. They sent me home on a turbutaline pump and a bunch of other medications. Ryan was so great at helping me with my pump all the time. I had to change the injection site every 5 days. I just couldn't bring myself to change it on my own. I was also on a 2 x's daily home contraction monitoring system. I would talk to a nurse after faxing each session. I had my own snack bar and refrigerator set up in my room next to my bed and members of the ward came everyday to help me with lunch and any other things I needed. The priests in our ward brought me the sacrament every week and the young women help out with meals and dishes. I also had lots of friends and family come to visit me. My mom came several times a week with meals and helped keep my house clean and organized (right up my moms alley. The organizing queen). She also drove me to almost all of my Dr.'s appointments. What a blessing to be in such wonderful ward so willing to give service and have such wonderful friends and family. Anyway, I ended up back in the hospital at 31 weeks and stayed two more weeks. At 33 weeks and two days and 83 pounds later, it was time to deliver. The delivery went great. I had a C-section. It was super quick and easy. The recovery was a lot harder than I thought it would be. But after about 4 months I started feeling like my old self again.

My friend took these pictures for me a few weeks before delivery.  They turned out awesome.

Me right before delivery.  Yikes!

My enormous foot next to my moms.  I had a lot of swelling.

The babies were all healthy. Caden was 4 pounds 6 ounces. Halle and Jackson were 4 pounds. They were so tiny. Caden and Halle stayed in the NICU for one week and Jackson stayed for 2 weeks. I couldn't believe how soon I got the babies home. I cried the day they called and said they were ready to go home. I wasn't ready for them to come home. I was so nervous that I wouldn't know how to take care of them all.

Halle.  She had the longest little fingers.

Jackson

Life is great now. Caden is our over achiever. He loves to play with toys and always lauqhs at everything. He is almost sitting up on his own now. Halle is the little princess. She loves to lay with her hands behind her head like she is posing for a picture. She is our most sensitive one, as a girl should be. She is a chunky little thing. Jackson is our momma's boy. He is always looking around for me and he always has a smile for his mom. He loves to smile at everyone. Jackson was diagnosed with profound hearing loss a few months ago. He is wearing hearing aids for now, which are not working all that great. But it is a step we have to go through for the insurance company before we have cochlear implants done. There is a link to a website that has a great video explaining cochlear implants on the right side of my blog under (Websites we like) if you want to learn more about what an implant is. He will receive implants around 12 months or so. We are learning sign language as a family. Just basic things like milk, eat, more, sleep, bath. I can't wait to see them actually start signing things. Other than that things are going pretty well around here. We are just keeping busy!

Oh, we can't forget to leave out our other two children. Bodi and Harley (the schnauzers). They are adapting well to the craziness of the new babies. Harley has been killing birds in the back yard on a regular basis and bringing them in the house to play with (he thinks he is a hunting dog). Bodi is so great with the babies. He lets them grab his fur and he likes to put his paw out thinking the babies want to shake his hand. It is so funny. That is the yearly scoop in a nut shell of what has been going on around here. I will try to keep an update every month or so if I don't get too busy.
